Chancellor’s Conference Day

Chancellor’s Day was a big success.  Key note speakers addressed an assortment of interesting and useful topics. Nicole Keegan’s team worked with our staff on revising the Hospital Schools’ mission statement.  The ENL team, led by Eva Perez, launched a year-long training on ENL strategies. Featured topics included the Frayer Model, Sheltered Observation Protocol, Communicative Language Teaching, Language Experience Approach, and Total Physical Response.  Robbi Mintz and the Writing Revolution team demonstrated assessment grids to support instruction.  The Access for All Team showed a video of our teachers using the latest technology in adapted instruction.  Robert Langerfeld reviewed the criteria for implementing the Danielson Framework.  Fresh ideas were spotlighted for grab and go lessons. The Child Mind Institute returned to reinforce strategies supporting our mental health hospital teachers and staff.
