On May 16, 2023, HSP participated in the D75 Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Science fair. AP Dorota Koczewska, Paulina Nunez, and Jessica Indarte represented our program with their students. Featured projects explored the impact of ramp height on ball velocity and distance traveled through scientific demonstrations. On successive days students designed ramps in ascending order and then put them to the test. They gathered data and came to the conclusion that ramp height directly affects velocity and distance traveled. Students were proud to share their work with other students and it was exciting for them to interact with students from other boroughs! Moby the Robot from BrainPop fame mingled and posed for pictures.
